What is an implant and How it is made

It should be determined what kind of prosthesis will be made, which parts of this prosthesis and how many implants will be placed for this. In addition to the panoramic film showing the entire lower and upper jaw, volumetric computed tomography showing the existing bone structure in three dimensions helps to determine how many implants will be placed in which regions and in which position. After adequate analysis, the procedure is performed under local anesthesia, that is, with the same anesthesia applied in tooth extraction or root canal treatment. In some cases, general anesthesia and sedation methods are also used. The implant can be applied in 4 ways according to its method: Seamy seamless single stage Two-stage If the bone thickness is appropriate, after local anesthesia, only the gingiva is removed as much as the area to be implanted. The socket is opened with tools called burs for the implant, the implant is placed and the healing cover is attached. The sutured surgical procedure is a classical method and is the most frequently applied surgical intervention in routine. After local anesthesia, the gingiva is cut with a scalpel. The gingiva is opened, the implant is placed and sutured.
